By commissioning Athena Design, and by paying a minimum deposit of 20% which is non-refundable you confirm that you are in agreement with and bound by the terms and conditions listed below.
We reserve the right to refuse to create a website which Athena Design may judge as unfit due to content or otherwise. This includes, but is not limited by, sites containing adult oriented material such as pornography, sites which promote hatred towards persons belonging to any ethnic group, religion or sexual orientation and sites which infringe copyright or are contrary to current UK laws.
The acceptance of a commission shall be deemed as a contractual agreement between the client and Athena Design.
Athena Design cannot guarantee to start work immediately on a commission but will arrange a date with the client as to when work can commence.
All material, both text and images, supplied by the client and used in the construction of the client's website, will remain the client's property. All such material will be assumed to be the property of the client and free to use without fear of breach of current copyright laws.
The copyright for all material provided by Athena Design , such as CSS/HTML code, graphics, photographs and text, will remain the property of Athena Design until such time as payment has been made in full whereupon they will be transfered and become the property of the client.
Athena Design makes every effort to design pages which display acceptably in the most popular current browsers, but cannot accept responsibility for pages which do not display acceptably in new versions of browsers released after pages have been designed.
Athena Design will submit a client's website to several of the major search engines as part of the design commission. If a client wishes Athena Design to promote a web site as a separate commission, Athena Design will make every reasonable effort to promote the website effectively but cannot guarantee high rankings in search engine results.
Athena Design can not accept any responsibility or liability if any search engine, online directory or search site, submitted to as part of a web site promotion commission, chooses not to list a client's web site.
Athena Design will initially place the client's website on one of Athena Design’s demonstration servers during in order that the client may view and comment upon the website's progress. When both Athena Design and the client agree that the website meets the criteria agreed during the commissioning process, Athena Design will publish the website on the agreed hosting service either provided by Athena Design or use the client’s exsisting hosting service. Once complete and ‘live’ an invoice will be produced for the the client for the full amount due for the commission minus any deposit paid. On receipt of payment the site becomes the property of the client.
If at any point during the website development process the client wishes to cancel, they may do so in writing, but will be invoiced an amount for the work that has been carried out thus far minus any desposit, this charge will be based on the current hourly rate.
If, during the website development process, the client does not supply the content required and/or does not give requested feedback one designs done thus far in order to complete the commission within a reasonable amount of time, Athena Design will add a administration charge based on current hourly charge.
Athena Design expects payment by cheque, credit card or cash within 7 days of the date on the invoice.
Any payment returned by the bank or credit card company will incur a £30 administration charge. This will be invoiced and will be added to the total outstanding debt owed by the client.
Athena Design does not undertake to maintain or update a client's website as part of the design commission. If a client wishes Athena Design to maintain or update a web site as a separate commission, Athena Design will negotiate with the client a maintenance contract appropriate to the amount of work required. Web site maintenance may also be undertaken on a time and materials basis if the client wishes.
Athena Design reserves the right to alter prices at any time without notice. If a client has commissioned any services from Athena Design prior to a change in prices, that commission will not be subject to any increase, but any subsequent commission may be subject to the increase.
Notes:
Should Athena Design waive any of these terms on an individual basis, this shall not affect the validity of remaining terms & conditions or commit Athena Design to waive the same clause on any other time.
By agreeing to these terms and conditions your statutory rights are not affected.
Athena Design reserves the right to change or modify any of these terms or conditions at any time.

We take customer satisfaction very seriously and will investigate your complaint promptly and thoroughly.
Informal procedure
Anyone who experiences a problem with their web service provided by Athena Design should raise the matter directly by email, giving sufficient information to locate the material (such as an url) and clearly outlining the grounds for complaint. Formal complaints procedure
Formal procedure
should only be used where the complainant feels that the nature of the complaint is too serious to be dealt with informally, or where a satisfactory conclusion has not been reached after following the informal procedure.
A formal complaint should be made in writing to Athena Design , who will acknowledge receipt and ensure that the matter is looked into as soon as possible.
An initial response to any complaint can be expected within seven days of its receipt; a full and considered response to the complaint should be completed within 30 days and any subsequent remedy implemented with the minimum of delay.
